Kick It Up’s Dance Teams are designed to bring kids together who simply love to dance and are always wanting more of it. We develop leaders and spark friendships, cultivating a team culture that encourages creativity and exceeds expectations.
This experience includes 4 key elements:
1. We do things with excellence and integrity
Dance Team members will make great strides in their skills by emphasizing proper technique and consistent practice. We prioritize the safety and well-being of our dancers, and work to create a positive and supportive environment that nurtures our students inside and out of the studio. We uphold integrity by emphasizing honesty, respect, and responsibility in all aspects of our dance teams, including competitions and performances.
2. We are a second home for our youth and their families
Our mission is for our studio to be a second home for our students and a remain a positive, encouraging community where they can develop life long friendships. We love our dance family! Throughout the year, dancers have opportunities to connect with others on the team through our KIU big/little program, fun activities and of course the memories made performing, competing and learning and growing together in the classroom.
3. We are a thriving community that serves our community
KIU dancers gain insight from the judges comments and critiques after each competition. These critiques and the high standards of competitive dance give our dancers the impetus to work hard, dream big and be the BEST they can be by working together as a team!
4. We build life skills and lifelong relationships through the arts
KIU Dance Team members perform at five competitions per season, Winter Showcase, and our annual Spring Recital. We believe that the best dancers are those who exhibit kindness and compassion, choose to go the extra mile, and are a friend to all. Dancers on team are a direct representation of Kick It Up, and understand the responsibility this holds.
At Kick It Up, being a part of a competitive dance team is about more than just great dancing. It's about building lifelong friendships and being part of a supportive community of dancers who share a common passion. Our experienced coaches work with each dancer individually to help them achieve their full potential and learn valuable life skills that will serve them well both on and off the dance floor.If you're ready to take your dance skills to the next level, we invite you to audition for one of our competitive dance teams.
