Preview Day

Preview Day 2025

You’re invited!!! We are so excited to announce that Preview Day will be held at Lakewood High School on Friday, January 24th! We are ecstatic to be able to hold this event so dancers can debut their competition dances onstage with an audience! Additionally, we will have judges to provide feedback for our choreographers and dancers to review prior to our first competition. Preview Day is a perfect time to practice getting into costume, hair and makeup, warming up as a team, entering and exiting the stage, experience the joy of performing the dances they’ve worked so hard on, and get everyone excited and prepared for the start of the season!! All teams will be performing in Preview Day, and admission for 2 guests is included! Tickets will be available for purchase for additional friends and family. This is a fantastic opportunity to be able to watch all of Kick It Up’s competitive dances without having to navigate a crowded venue they’re unfamiliar with, pay for parking, or have to wait for our dances to perform amidst dances from many other studios, and is an exciting kick start to our competition season!

PROGRAM This event will have a digital program! QR codes will be available to scan at the venue and will be posted to our Dance Team Website.

ARRIVAL Dancers should arrive at 4pm in their first costume, team sweats and jacket/jersey over, with hair and makeup done. Hair and Makeup Tutorials can be found on our Dance Team Website in “How To Videos”. Dancers are allowed to go once they’re done performing, however we highly encourage you to stay and watch the dances in your section to support your teammates! Dancers are permitted in the audience once they are done performing and have changed out of costume. Once dancers arrive, they should remain in the theater until finishing their last dance.

CAN PARENTS BE BACKSTAGE? We kindly ask that only dancers 10 yrs & under with multiple dances have a parent backstage to assist with costume changes if necessary. Once they’re done performing, an announcement will be made over the microphone and dancers will be dismissed. A Star Leader, parent volunteer, or staff member will escort them to the audience to be with their families.
